Bottleshock is real
Bottle shock or “bottle sickness” is a phenomenon that most often happens to wine that has been newly bottled or jostled during a long journey. This is characterized by the wines muted flavors. Some might think this means the wine has turned “bad”. But this is not the case. The wine that is experiencing bottle shock needs time to become balanced again. Once its bottle shock has subsided, the wine will bloom and become just as beautiful as it was before its “bottle sickness”. Many of our customers and community have asked us why we decided upon the name BottleShock. The short answer is that we hope to embody the resilience that a bottle of wine possesses as it goes through such a process as bottle shock. Cheers to all of our BottleShock friends and family for all their support over the last year and through all the trials and tribulations!
